Svindal: Crash, Training, Recovery

Crash

He had multiple injuries… broken bones in his face and a 15 cm laceration to his groin and abdominal area. Svindal missed the remainder of the 2008 season.

Training

20 minutes on bike, then balance and stretching on balls, then 140 kilograms… then many other stuff… then again 10 minutes on the bike. May be Red Bull helps.

Recovery

His first two victories following his return were a downhill and a super-G in Beaver Creek, on the same Birds of Prey course where he was injured the year before. Remarkable comeback from his crash a year ago, true testament to mental strength. BTW his focus is so strong that he does not blink once during a 2 minute run…
